A PLN is a Personal Learning Network. I like that a PLN is catered to your personal wants and needs. It is a great way to connect with others that share your interests. I look forward to using my PLN to gain more information on areas that my teammates don’t have information/interest on/in (such as PLTW).

A personalized learning network allows professionals to share ideas and resources while collaborating with others. A PLN enables educators to collaborate with fellow educators all over the world. I have the choice as to whom to communicate with and whom to collaborate with.

A PLN is a Personal Learning Network. It is where a person can communicate and collaborate with other people who have like minded interests or professional goals. What stuck out to me when reading / watching videos / learning about PLNs is that professionals can learn from them just as if they were at a professional conference. This is actually very true, and because it is through Online, it really can be done out of time and personal convenience.

I know this could help move me professionally. Now that I am staying in a grade level (yay!), I can expand my knowledge on what’s out there and focus in improving my own instruction and practices while feeling I’m not just skimming the surface anymore. I know the content more, so I am able to go out there and grab ideas from other people who are doing the same kinds of things. I think I could even learn brand new things. PLNs will allow me to learn brand new things from people I wouldn’t be able to communicate with otherwise. You just “don’t know what you don’t know,” and PLNs will allow me to move out of isolation and into a bigger world with excellent ideas. If I’m the only teacher of ELA or any subject matter this year, I will be able to collaborate and work with others, even though they are not in my building! I do plan on utilizing ideas from Pinterest, Twitter, etc. this year. I’m excited to gain some new knowledge and learn from others!

I’m excited to spend time seeing what’s out there, taking ideas from others, and sharing my own. In this way, my instruction will be strengthened and stretched in ways I wouldn’t otherwise be able to do. Of course I could use PLNs for personal interests (finding recipes and decorative ideas on Pinterest, for example), but my focus for utilizing PLNs will be professional. 🙂

A PLN is a personalized learning network. It helps educators communicate knowledge with and learn from other educators in an area that they are focused on at that moment of time. It goes beyond education though and can be used for most professionals out in the work force. I was connected with people in google plus and enjoyed learning what others are doing. I also enjoy learning what is going on in the classrooms of the school I currently teach in by following our teachers on twitter. It is fun to see the exciting things that they are doing.
Time is always the struggle and finding the time to connect with the PLN is what I find difficult. I hope to use it more as I move into the personalized learning classroom and looking for ideas to help wrap my head around it.

While a PLN takes time, I believe it can truly transform you into the next level of innovative teacher. Please be patient and stick with it. You will learn so many amazing ideas from the virtual network of “friends” you develop. Then, once class is over, find a way to stay in contact with your new learning community.

A PLN is a Personalized Learning Network of professionals who share interests in educational strategies, beliefs, techniques, and experience. There is an amazing amount of sharing, collaborating, and knowledge being exchanged–I get a little overwhelmed. I am excited about all of the information and being able to connect with Coaches ad Mentors. In my current job…there are only 7 other Coaches to collaborate so this will be a wonderful resources for suggestions, resources and information for my candidates. I was thankful to have a step by step guide through the many options and am narrowing down to the ones that work. I am excited to follow/share/collaborate with the well known educators as well as the ones working hard every day in their classrooms to make the school experience a successful one for ALL students.

A PLN is a Personalized Learning Network that allows individuals to share, collaborate, and increase their personal knowledge in common areas of interest. The amount of information one can take in can be overwhelming at times. I am excited to explore the many options available to me and create a group of colleagues/educators/real world people to increase my bag of tricks for the teaching world. As a Coach/Teacher/Diagnostician/Consultant in the world of Special Education I am always looking for new and exciting strategies and techniques that are working in today’s classrooms. I am also excited to expand my network of Coaches and Mentors, as right now I am only collaborating with 7 other Coaches in my current position. I look forward to organizing all of this information so I can better distribute and share my resources with teachers and preschool providers.
